SCSC is one of the few programs in the area that is qualified to teach students with unique needs, whether it be fearful children, adults who have never learned to swim, or individuals with mental, physical, or emotional challenges. Our instructors go through additional training in order to teach these specialty classes. Due to the individualized nature of these levels, we ask that clients contact us to register.
Tuition: Infant/toddler, small group, competitive strokes, & specialty classes are $80/mo per child. Click here for additional tuition information.
Crabs 1 & 2
Age: 4 1/2 or older and fearful/terrified or older beginner
We offer 2 older beginner classes for children who are either fearful/terrified or very hesitant about swimming. Whether it is due to a previous negative experience or busy schedules, many children enter our program with an overwhelming fear of water. These classes will focus on helping students conquer their fears and become comfortable in water. Once students have overcome their initial fears, they will begin learning basic stroke technique, including front and back floats, kicking with their faces in the water, rollover breathing, and an introduction to side-breathing and backstroke. These classes are designed for fearful/terrified children over the age of 4 years old or older children who have never had lessons and need to learn very basic skills, such as those that would be taught in our Angelfish or Puffer Fish classes, but with children closer to their age.
Due to the special nature of Crabs classes, we do not offer online enrollment. Please call our office to register for Crabs 1 or 2 or to set up a trial class.
We offer lessons for adults at all levels. From beginners who need to learn the very basic skills of blowing bubbles and floating to more advanced swimmers who just want to brush up on their strokes, we can accommodate any need. Please contact us for availability.
