Our COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

Drowning is a very serious problem and our primary goal is and always be drowning prevention. But in order to provide this life-saving skill, families need to feel safe coming to our facility. Therefore, we have established policies and procedures that are designed to create a healthy environment.

  • Face Coverings: Face coverings are required for everyone 8 yr and older. In accordance with the mandate issued by the Governor, face coverings are required in all indoor public spaces. Face coverings are not permitted in the water.
  • Capacity Limits:
    • Only enrolled families are allowed in the viewing areas. Non-immediate family members (including Grandparents) and friends are not allowed to come to lessons for the time being.
    • Only 1 parent/caregiver per family should come to lessons. If you absolutely need a second person, we understand, but please do not bring unnecessary people.
  • Health Screening: As you enter the facility, please take a moment to read through the Health Screening questions. If you or anyone with you answers yes to any of the questions, please do not enter the facility. Give us a call and we will gladly mark your student absent.
  • Overall Health: Stay home if your child or anyone in your home has had fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea within 48 hours of your swim lesson. The health and safety of our swimmers and families is very important to us and we hope you will help us make it a priority!
  • Contact us: If your child or anyone in your home is exposed to COVID-19 and you have been at the swim center within 10 days, please contact us immediately. We need to conduct contact tracing and keep records of any possible exposures at SCSC.
  • Staggered class dismissal times will begin this week. It is getting too cold to “Wrap & Go” which means more people using the changing areas. To reduce the number of people in the changing areas at one time, we will rotate dismissing half of the classes 5 minutes early. Every other week classes will get out a little early to get dressed and out the door before the rest of the classes. We strongly recommend bringing clothes you can quickly change your kiddo into after lessons (i.e. pajamas, sweatpants, etc.).
  • Absences & Make-ups: All missed classes between March 1st – June 30th will be eligible for make-ups for one year from the missed class. Beginning July 1st, absences that are reported prior to class will be eligible for make-ups for up to 3 months from the missed class. Absences due to COVID-19 will be eligible for make-ups for up to 6 months with a doctor’s notice.
